Message: More Leclanche news

Thanks for the link Hogey. It is an interesting sidebar. A couple of things jumped out at me when reading through it:

1 - Oakridge is said to be "a global leader in the development and manufacturing of solid-state battery systems". Not sure whether this suggests that they will look to apply their technology to Leclanche, or if they simply want to acquire a company that has its own form of lithium-ion manufacture. The more I learn about this business, the more I come to realize that there are many, many different iterations of Lithium-ion chemistry duking it out in the quest for mass appeal.

2 - Oakridge "now intends to proactively develop its global brand and cutting-edge technology by identifying strategic market opportunities and by partnering with key industry participants". No suggestion that this will involve EFL or Litarion, but given the existing relationship between Leclanche and Litarion, it is possible. No question that Oakridge will at the very least be aware of EFL and its primary and subsidiary business lines.

3 - Oakridge feels that "Precept's significant holdings in Leclanche will enhance the abilities of both Oakridge and Leclanche to further expand their respective product offerings in the global marketplace through their previously announced strategic alliance, and also will enable them both to access the Asian marketplace through Precept's significant connections in Japan, China and Australasia, which will be made available by Precept to both companies as a result of this transaction". This is quite forward looking, but if Precept truly does have "significant connections" in Asia, it could be a portal into a vast market for energy storage.
