Company like LG and Samsung will not outsource cathode manufacturing, it is deeply core business and include huge quantity of know how, R&D, etc ... and many leading company operate NMP coating lines in US, Japan and Europe as will most probably LG/Samsung plant in Europe to fulfill Audi orders.
Make sense for small Leclanché costwise to obtain high quality electrodes from Litarion and concentrate on cell manufacturing and integration as they have limited financial ressources, win/win situation.
If Electrovaya could really transfer non-NMP process in Kamenz to high quality, reliability level and low cost (still need to be prove ... and finance), could provide those electrodes to companies/JV interested to produce commodity batteries in market like India.
As battery market is due to explode, Electrovaya could expand business without LG, Samsung, Tesla deals.
According to PR Asian conglomerate was an Indian one, one more vaporware MOU in Electrovaya life, could they reactivate it ? Only Sankar know it !
"I think we should think again about the statement "electrovaya paid with its technology for litarion". Well, if Daimler wants a plant in Europe from LG (they will deliver batteries for Daimler) and Audi wants a SDI plant they have to find a way to place those into Europe....
I think they found one, that was actually pretty clever from a balance sheet perspective. We talked about the "asian conglomerate" plenty of times -read the old presentations!
So we are closer then we thought. Daimler and Audi can rely on a proven technology, with prpably today a proven NPM free production technology. If they did one thing right at EFL with their patents, then I believe the management of Litarion is in the place to connect the different player - KIT as a technology hub is well connected with the automotive industry."
