The KLIB project looked at different components and different battery types & technologies, even cylindrical cells.  Did you notice Lelanche in there?  I suspect their titanate battery was evluated also it has fast charge and low energy density.  BMZ uses a lot of different type cells and technology.  They don't build them,  they specify them and cells are toll mag for them.  Something like what Litarion is doing with Amita.
