Message: Rising Cost Of European Energy Makes EV Battery Plants "Unfeasible"

Yes, there will be hiccups, and maybe even some strong belching from the transformation to the "green future", which includes electric vehicles. Yes the electric grid is vulnerable. And solar panels and batteries are backing up into a pile. So, should we just keep on keeping on toward the abyss without an alternative?

Do you think that the taxes paid by these outlandishly profitable companies even equal the massive subsidies and tax breaks provided to the fossil fuel industries? What if that money was used instead to assist in the battery/panel recycling and recovery process? Or in more recycling efforts of plastics in the US instead of the old program of shipping our recycleables to Asia? It is this mind numbing belief that things should not change because there may be discomfort, or business displacement that was prevalent when the early automobile threatened buggy whip and wooden wagon manufacturers. As with today's early EV vehicles, the early automobile was interesting and affordable by only the wealthiest adopters.

Burying our head in the sand will not stop the tide from coming in and getting us wet. Consumption and Corporate America are responsible for where we are, and if we cannot stop, or change the course of this runaway train, it can only end one way. It is usually politics that gets in the way of most progressive ideas.... history reveals that time and again.

   But, alas, I digress........
