Message: Con Edison RFP

Thanks for that information.  I have been thinking (always trouble) that Con Edison may want to have more than one supplier.  Maybe like end up splitting the contract between two or three suppliers.  I would think they would not want more than three at most.  This would let them see (use) different batteries and see how they perform.  It would also limit the failure if one of the suppliers was not able to successfully operate their system.  Maybe they are already further down the road than this and are confident in their bidder selection.

Then again if they go with the best battery and the best overall control system with the most flexibility then they will be ahead of the game to start with.  I just won't be surprised if the 200MW is awardwd in pieces.

Keep in mind these are 4hr systems with a minimum size of 5MW.

Following the 4hr systems will be 8hr systems on the next RFP.  Then batteries will have to compete against other technologies (Flow Batteries, ect).

Let the fun begin!!
