The first thought that came to the top was, They are trying to develop a cell for the 8 hour ESS.  Cells that can discharge for 8 hours take a much thicker Cathode and most likely a slightly different electrolyte mixture.   Time is not on their side so extra help is needed to make the time line for that application.  Electrovaya will be compteting against flow batteries and other technologies so they must have a superior battery cell for the 8 hour ESS.
