I understand that this may be a climate spike and we may regress to the mean in a few years.  I see points of view with agendas on both sides.

So I have to look at the potential consequences.  If it turns out that the climate crisis is real and we didn't do anything about it - well, that could be utterly catastrophic.  If it turns out the climate crisis was nonsense - I don't see the as much of a downside - less pollution and less reliance on fossil fuels is good.  We will have spent a huge chunk of GNP.
