Enablence Shipping New Products that Support Mobile Backhaul (Fiber-To-The-Cell Tower) and for High Bandwidth Business Applications |
OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 27, 2009) - Enablence Technologies Inc. ("Enablence" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:ENA), a leading supplier of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) equipment for triple-play residential and business services and optical components and subsystems for access, metro and long haul markets, is pleased to announce the addition of the ONT-2X1 and ONT-4X1 to its industry leading Optical Network Terminal (ONT) product lines that support fiber-to-the-cell tower applications (Mobile Backhaul) and supports two and four T1 and E1 ports with each port carrying either 24 or 30 channels of digital voice or data - specially designed for deployments for small business premises and applications that require the use of high bandwidth. T1 lines are commonly used for telecommunications in North America, Japan, and South Korea and E1 lines are predominantly used in Europe. The technology used for the new products is Pseudowire, which is an emulation of a native service over a packet switched network (PSN). The products are capable of handling major communications industry standards. The two new products - ONT-2X1 and ONT-4X1 - provide maximum bandwidth efficiency and interoperability, consistent with industry Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF-8) standards. "With the introduction of the ONT-2X1 and ONT-4X1 we are able to expand our market reach with increased deployment options for existing telecommunications lines. They are also particularly exciting because they can provide cellular networks that are being upgraded a capability to handle high bandwidth requirements of today's sophisticated phones and an economic way for carriers to increase the bandwidth delivered to their cell towers." said Arvind Chhatbar, CEO of Enablence.
