Boxxer intersects additional copper mineralization at Boss copper-gold project and plans drilling project in East Breccia

CALGARY,Feb. 9, 2012/CNW/ - Boxxer Gold Corp. (BXX-TSXV/OTC Other-BXXRF)) ("Boxxer or the Company") is very pleased to provide an update on the diamond drilling program on its 100% owned Boss porphyry copper-gold Boss project in Nevada; including visual observation of the core from the last three diamond drill holes.

Highlights:

a) DDH-09-2011 located on the Boss Extension skarn intersected bornite-hematite mineralization over a core interval 2.5 m from 236.0 to 238.5m which is in addition to the mineralization previously reported, and
b) DDH-10-2012 located on the Oro Amigo patented claims intersected visible malachite + azurite from surface to a depth of 14.0m in marble and recrystallized limestone and reported copper oxide mineralization from 151.3m to 170.4m in silicified and recrystallized limestone.

Boxxer's President and CEO, Elmer B. Stewart, explained; "At the Boss Extension skarn, multiple intervals and single occurrences of copper mineralization occur within in a pyroxene skarn. The copper mineralization intersected at Oro Amigo is hosted in moderately to strongly silicified and recrystallized limestone and could be related to the mineralized (copper-gold-silver-PGE) jasperoid outcrops that occur within the Oro Amigo patented claims. Within the Boss project jasperoid occurs only on the Oro Amigo area and in the hanging wall of the Keystone fault, the main historical gold producing area in the Goodsprings mining district data".

Diamond Drilling Results:
DDH-09-2011 is a vertical HQ diameter hole that was completed to a depth of 273.6m. Pyroxene skarn and marble was intersected to a depth of 239.0m at which point the skarn shows a gradational contact to recrystallized limestone and then limestone at the bottom of the hole. The visual observation on the core from the top 175 m portion of this hole was covered in a news release dated (January 13, 2012). At a depth of 237.5m bornite mineralization is reported.

DDH-10-2012 was completed in the vicinity of the Oro Amigo mine. This inclined HQ diameter hole that was completed to a depth of 245.5m. The drill hole intersected two intervals of visible copper mineralization and silicified and recrystallized limestone to a depth of 184.0m below which recrystallized limestone and limestone occurs. Copper mineralization (malachite and azurite) was observed over the core interval from surface to 14.0m and from 151.3m to 170.4m.

DDH-11-2012 was completed in the vicinity of the Oro Amigo mine. This hole is an inclined HQ diameter hole that was completed to a depth of 266.6m to test a chargeability anomaly. This hole intersected a carbonate supported fault breccia to a depth of 144.1m and a brecciated limestone to the end of the hole. Weakly silicified and carbonaceous limestone was intersected over a core interval from 124.0m to 129.5m. This fault zone was not previously reported in the Goodsprings district.

The reader is cautioned that visible copper mineralization does not necessarily equate to significant concentrations of copper. There is no assurance that the assay results of the samples from these drill holes will yield significant copper grades. The core intervals shown in this news release are not true thickness.

Analytical results for the 2011 and 2012 diamond drill hole completed on the Boss project are pending and will be reported on receipt thereof. A plan map showing the location of the drill holes can be viewed on the Company's website atwww.boxxergold.com. (see: Boss project - Maps)

Future Boss Drilling Plans:
Boxxer has completed its current drilling program on the Boss project. Future activities include compilation of all assays results, re-interpretation of the Titan-24 geophysical results and another diamond drilling program. Future drilling is planned on BLM lands and will require permitting of additional drill sites.

East Breccia Property:
Boxxer is currently preparing a diamond drilling program on its East Breccia property. The drilling is schedule to commence in early March and an initial program of 2,000m is planned. Contingent on observations in the cores, additional holes may be drilled. This zone measures 750m long by 500m wide and is reported to have been drill tested to a depth of 400m below surface. The mineralization and alteration reported from this zone suggests the presence of an Iron-Oxide-Copper-Gold style mineralization.
