CALGARY, May 25, 2012 /CNW/ - Boxxer Gold Corp. (TSX-V:BXX/OTC Other:BXXRF) ("Boxxer" or the "Corporation") is pleased to announce that it has commenced the previously announced 2,000m diamond drilling program on its 4,300 acre East Breccia copper-molybdenum (rhenium)-silver-tungsten property. The East Breccia property hosts two large zones of copper-molybdenum (rhenium)-silver-tungsten mineralization located in the Sault Ste. Marie Mining Division in south-central Ontario. Boxxer can earn a 100% interest in the East Breccia property subject to a 3% Net Smelter Return ("NSR").
Boxxer also announces the location of a previously unreported outcrop with copper mineralization associated with a positive magnetic trend along strike of the West Breccia mineralized zone within the East Breccia Property. Review of the historical data has identified several positive magnetic anomalies located approximately 100m east of the East Breccia mineralized zone. The first 3 drill holes of the planned 2012 program will test the copper-molybdenum (rhenium)-silver-tungsten mineralization associated with a weak positive magnetic anomaly that was identified through a previously completed airborne survey.
Boxxer also announces that its 2012 Annual General Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 31, 2012, at 10:00 am at The Mezzanine Floor, Livingston Place Conference Centre, Room B - South Tower, 222 - 3rd Avenue SW, Calgary, AB. T2P 0B4
