Message: What is PLC Splitter?

PLC splitter stands for Planar Lightwave Circuit Splitter, based on the special technology of quartz glass waveguide and with precise and reliable micro-fiber array ; it is the solution of a low-cost, small size and high reliability optical splitters . PLCS devices have low insertion loss, low polarization loss, return loss. products fit with Telcordia GR-1209-CORE, Telcordia GR-1221-CORE.YD/T1117-2001 standards.

PLC Splitter (Planar waveguide Circuit optical splitter) are developed using silica glass waveguide circuits and aligned fiber pigtails, integrated inside a miniature package. PLC splitters provide low-cost solution for optical signal distribution, with small form factor and superb reliability. They are designed for FTTx Passive Optical Networks, CWDM, DWDM and optical cable TV System.

PLC Splitters have high quality performance, such as low insertion loss, low PDL, high return loss and excellent uniformity over a wide wavelength range from 1260 nm to 1620 nm, and work in temperature from -40oC to +85oC.
