Gas from commercial stores in Hungary has been taken out at nearly the maximum pace since Tuesday morning, though Ukraine has still not officially informed Földgázszáll&iacu... (FGSz), the gas transmission unit of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL, of delivery volume for the day, FGSz and E.ON Földgáz Storage spokesman István Kutas told MTI.
Kutas confirmed that gas deliveries over both Hungary's eastern and western borders dropped significantly on Tuesday.
FGSz said earlier in the morning that gas deliveries via Austria had dropped.
On Monday, Ukraine reduced gas deliveries to Hungary by 8 million cubic meters from the 38 million cubic meters stipulated in its supply contract. The reduction followed a cut of Russia's gas deliveries to Europe via Ukraine because of a row over prices.
The maximum daily amount of gas that can be drawn from Hungary's more than 3 billion cubic meters of commercial gas stores is 51.5 million cubic meters. Gas consumption in Hungary is expected reach 68 million cubic meters on Tuesday. (MTI – Econews)
