Although there are endless stories about the European energy situation in the headlines this week, there has yet to be any mention of the Mako trough. This comes as no surprise, as substantial gas production could still be many years away.

Some of you may be wondering if the politicians and beaurocrats that are involved have even heard of the Mako Trough. I think it's safe to say that they have.

Back in November, Phil on IV pointed out that Dr. Szabo made a presentation at the Energy Forum in Budapest. What he failed to notice, or didn't mention, what that this presentation was sponsored by Falcon, TXM, and and MOL, among others. It was attended by some very important people, including the President of Hungary.

The presentation itself was put on by the Constellation Energy Institute, who's Executive Chairman is Janos Csak, the same Janos Csak who is on Falcons Board of Directors.

Also on the board of the Constellation Institue is Anita Orban, author Power, Energy, and the New Russian Imperialism

Mrs. Orban is the wife of Victor Orban, Head of Hungary's opposition party and former (and perhaps next) Prime Minister.

Mrs. Orban, Dr. Szabo, and Ferenc Horvath (also on Falcons board) did another presentation together in November on "Energy Resources for the Future Generations"
