BNN is one of my favorite channels. Not only are the shows good, but sometimes the commercials are even better. After supper I put it on, and the first commercial was from ExxonMobil. It almost brought tears to my eyes :)
Couldn't find a video of the commercial, but here's a transcript from Exxon's quartery newsletter:
When it comes to increasing our domestic energy supply, we’re not caught between a rock and a hard place.
One of the factors impacting energy prices is growing global demand. And one way to put downward pressure on prices is to make more supply available. That’s why it’s so important for America to make the most of the oil and gas deposits
that exist right here at home. ExxonMobil has invented a breakthrough technology that we’ve begun using in the U.S. to access cleaner-burning natural gas locked in very tight, hard rocks. We’re applying this technology to retrieve natural gas
quicker, more efficiently and with less environmental impact. Breakthroughs like this have the potential to increase our domestic energy supply. In fact, by tapping just one of our U.S. gas fields, we could produce enough gas to heat
50 million homes for almost a decade.
“It’s important to have a supply of cleaner-burning natural gas right here in our own backyard. But American natural gas supplies are often found in tight rock formations that are difficult to access, so new technology that can
unlock these resources is critical.”

“We’ve developed a breakthrough technology that allows us to pull gas out of tight, hard rocks, which will lead to a significant amount of domestic natural gas production.”
