I tend to agree with 2happy, Giant HW, sandy9, B2B and others that the share price will go up when concrete positive news hit the wires, or before that if the leakage we have seen in the past continues this year.

Why would the dog and pony show not work?, well, the purpose of the road show at this time would not be in any way to try and make the share price go up. yes, in the back of everyone's mind would be that, but it would not be the intended purpose. What would be the goal of the show would include 1) Make at least one technical guy, one money bag man, and one executive manager available to current and potential investors. This allows for an opportunity to see and hear what they have to show and say as well as to ask questions. If more people is made available, it is to be able to have more people talk one-on-one with the investors. 2) The presentation would include glossy slides of the most recent and current drilling and rigs in the field, their locations in relation to FO, glossy sections of what to expect at depth and glossy slides of how XOM would deal with the potential pay zones. 3) They may hear about the timetable as to when Exxon may test the Szolnok in the Mako Trough and how successful the company expects those results to be. 4) The presentations would be done at the offices of each current and potential investor that agreed to see them. This last part encompasses the hidden trasure of the presentaions. Let me explain, if you were a fly on the wall you wouyld be bored to death after a while as all the presentations done during the road show would be basically identical, with all the company peple saying the same thing in the same order. And if per chance you are not a fly on the wall, and were able instead to read what these presentations were, you would think that there is a miniscule bit of new information and a massive recycling of known information. So the question is, why would so many investors and potential investors agree to see FO during a road show. The answer is very simple. A) it allows the investors to ask questions questions, the presentation may be the same, some questions may be identica, but invariable each investor may have thier own particular question. B) In some cases and investor may turn lucky and get an staright answer to a question, good for them. C) In most cases the company will be mindful of the answers it gives, and in these instances even if the company people don't answer a question in a straight forward manner, the body language will be there for the investor to see. While not answering a question the Executive will andswer while keeping an eye on the technical guy, a sure sign that they have an issue here and the technical guy will not answer for fear of letting too much out.

So a pony and dog show is valuable. It will not get the price moving, but will prime the investors to better understand the news when they come, and that body language, Ohhh Myyyyy it is invaluable. A treasure for those that witness it.

The account given above is generic, TK or DJP would be better qualified to say what FO's presentations actually look like
