Canada used to have Petro Canada, protected from takeover in a similar way. And initially had to be admitted to what ever play it wanted to be part of. It did very little for the canadian O&G industry. Very similar to Hungary today. MOL is shielded from takeover and controls the lion share of the O&G land and resources. These people think like snails, just last year their CEO did not want to be part of anything with FO's Mako, MOL had its own piece and did nothing with it until we came around.
Here is the reality Soly. MOL should be free of protection against takeovers. And the way to handle a threatening takeover is through a governmental review. That would have allowed for the OMV takeover to proceed while blocking a threatening one (which is how USA blocked the chinese).
Come around Soly and join us in the the free-er market world, you may like it.
