It is not surprising to see the stock give up its gains. We will always have this due to day traders or investors not willing to wait any longer. Any upwards tick by this stock will be hindered by the selling pressure - the shares outstanding and the long history of this company suggests that there are many who will leave ship on the earliest opportunity and not wait any longer.

The longs have a much higher average share price than actual and are not willing to sell. But whenever or if it does reach their average price, they will be tempted to sell.

Conclusion : Although the relatively low trading volume today, we will experience similar price fluctuations for much longer with or without news. Only the patient ones will eventually be rewarded !
