Developing large acreage positions of unconventional and conventional oil and gas resources

I know I won't either. My point was that I don't recall anyone even suggesting that there was gushing oil in the Beetaloo basin, and yet there has been quite a few references that someone did. I think the chances that there could be at some point in the future are quite good, however, that will require an extensive amount of exploration first, exploration that is very expensive, and that Falcon cannot really afford to be doing at this point.

The question of whether or not the Beetaloo is perspective or not, and if Falcon should be involved with it or not, are two totally different issues. All of the research I've done shows that it is a very prospective play. So far, I have yet to see anyone post anything to the contrary.

DB has said that it isn't because BHP isn't involved. Fair enough. But Exxon and MOL weren't involved with the Mako Trough either until Falcon drilled a few holes and demostrated a superabundance of mature source rocks and acceptable sandstone reservoirs :)

"If a large Mesozoic or younger basin, traversed by existing pipelines, was shown to have a superabundance of mature source rocks, acceptable sandstone reservoirs, suitable structures from which initial work had already yielded many shows and minor oil and gas flows, then it is probable that competition for exploration acreage would be strong. That would lead to a variety of ideas and techniques being applied and overall a great exploration effort would develop."
