Developing large acreage positions of unconventional and conventional oil and gas resources

15 mmscf/d - 20 mmscf/d is 15 to 20 million standard cubic feet per day.
Gas is usually priced in units of 1000 standard cubic feet. For example, $7 per mcf
15 mmscf/day = $7 X 15 X 1000 = $105,000.00 per day
20 mmscf/day = $140,000.00 per day
If a well cost $12 million to drill and complete, and was flowing at 20 mmcf/day, it would only take 114 days to pay for the well.
Of course $7.00 is the selling price of the gas in this example, not the profit (netback), and the flow rate will decline dramatically within the first year, so this is a simplistic example.
I don't think I've made any mathematical errors. If anyone sees anything wrong with the above, please feel free to speak up.
