SE, we dont know that they are doing this. XTO/XOM will have the opportunity to review Mako before they call it quits, and one well does not mean the gas will not flow. In fact XOM has many reasons to continue. For one they book all gas reserves a equivalent oil, so they want more gas. Second, they are shut out of the pipelines that will feed gas to EU. Third, the current economic slowdown is transitory, not permanent, and as the economy recovers, gas will be the only green energy source we can count on.
