Corex Gold completes 3-D survey at Santana

2011-05-20 09:20 ET - News Release

Mr. Chris Bogart reports

IP SURVEY SIGNIFICANTLY EXPANDS POTENTIAL OF SANTANA PROJECT

Corex Gold Corp. has received positive results from the most recent deep 3-D induced polarization (IP) survey conducted by SJ Geophysics Ltd. on its 100-per-cent owned Santana property in Sonora state, Mexico. This latest survey was configured with wider line spacing and dipole lengths in order to increase the depth of investigation. It included 13 E-W lines, each 3,200 metres in length and spaced 200 metres apart. These parameters effectively increased the depth of investigation to 400 m to 500 m.

Highlights

  • Identified new exploration targets
  • Confirmed and expanded several know mineralized trends
  • Showed continuity at depth between previous drilled zones
  • Evidence that Santana is part of a large emerging porphyry district

You can read the entire NR on CGE site. This is very favourable to FMG...I do not grasp many of the geology issues...but I do recall having a conversation with JIM a couple of months ago when he stated that it is his idea supported by our geologists that there may very well be a large body of metals ie copper etc at deeper levels. The surface findings are very good and mineable but at lower levels there could be much much more. THat is all I know you would need "Hoov" or someone with a geology background to explain this in more detail. Anyways Corex findings seem to support this idea...what they don't say is a lot of this mineralization is trending onto FMG property.
