Morning GB my friend, usual coffee?? I am an addict.
A bit of side infornation. This is probably Tayopa # 2.
The Jesuits first started working to the NE at Guaynopa / Guaynopita. They were working Bonanza ore. Then, as time went on, their Indian prospectors discovered this zone, so they commenced mining here. As mentioned, it was in bonanza also, and in the oxide zone.
They eventually changed their headquarters from the Guaynopa zone to here, Santa Ana.
Later they found a Third Tayopa, the Legendary one of fame and moved there. however, in any event, this was one of the best in Mexico at that time, and they had beauties then. The potentials of the area are fantastic.
Not too many years ago this zone was as isolated as the famous Timbuctoo was in Africa in the early 1800's, but recently, a paved all weather road, which crosses the sierras, passed nearby and allowed easy acess to Yecora, a source of supplies and certain labor.
Yes, this zone has great promise.
