Member Inquiries, Feedback and Testimonials
Good Morning Dear Community Members.
Thank you for your valuable input. You concerns raised are appreciated and we make every effort to provide support to our Hub Leaders and Community Members regardless of rank.
Please find corresponding responses to your feedback below:
Molycor IR:
You bring up some great points regarding the site’s maturity and its growth. Indeed with growth comes pain and adaptation and we have made great strides to maintain order and promote understanding amongst our community members.
In your message you quote AGORACOM
“Typically, we've found that when someone has attained the rank of VP or higher, they act in a manner consistent with our community standards”. That is true indeed. For the greater part we are certain that members with the rank of VP or President behave in a certain manner that meets AGORACOM standards. Perhaps you should have included the next sentence to that statement which is “There are obviously exceptions in every case.”
AGORACOM members achieve their rating on two premises; their Activity Points and member rating (referring to how other AGORACOM member's rate your posts within the community). We then multiply these two numbers and achieve ones Ranking Points.
Please note that Ratings are both positively and negatively correlated. You can accumulate both positive activity points (from posting et al) and negative activity points (if you get ignored). Your rating is also affected by the five star rating system; you can increase in rating with consecutive four or five star votes or you can decrease with a string of ones.
AGORACOM admins are notified on every message reported as a violation through tools on our backend. They are also notified in many other ways which help us combat abuse of our system in any way imaginable; vote rigging, using multiple aliases, consistent violations as well as thresholds for ignores and violations accumulated. When a certain member crosses those thresholds that member is warned or in extreme cases, has had ranks removed; or in one instance his account privileges suspended indefinitely.
We agree that the shareholders within each community should have the final word with regards to what is acceptable and what is not on each Main Board. As such you will notice that violations on Shareholder Community Hubs are rarely handled by an AGORACOM admin. Those cases are usually in instances where an obvious violation to our six rules of use has occured; for instance outright bashing, use of profanity or a where a member is using multiple aliases.
If there is a post made by a VP member or higher you feel should be looked at, kindly contact an admin either by using the General Contact page or through Private Messaging and one will gladly step in to act on your behalf. Or you can report the message as a violation and add your note through the text
Cylinder:
We understand that the Spider Resources Forum has had a recent incident concerning a member who is immune to your control. Our records show that an admin was speaking with you and the other member involved in this dispute on Friday night as late as 9:30 in the evening. Whilst there are human limits to the support AGORACOM can offer, we are confident that our staff will go out of their way to provide a swift, tactful and polite approach to any matter in timely fashion.
Lastly in extreme instances where conflict has gone too far, ranks have been removed. Taking a quick reference to our previous response, in instances where a name comes up on a number of occasions in our violations window, or has crossed a threshold of ignores, further investigation is indeed applied.
Kelsee:
As briefly mentioned in above, AGORACOM admins act in support of a Shareholder Communities Hub Leader and its members within. In other words AGORACOM is not the authority within a Shareholder Community; AGORACOM admins consult the indigenous Hub Leader when before stepping in to resolve a conflict amongst President Members for example.
Keeping a balance between objectivity, relevance and community wellness is quite hard to strike. Removing all the messages which add little or nothing to a company would detriment free expression; allowing everything to remain posted would equate to chaos.
So we apply a balance of the above. Our six rules of use are clear and while not as thorough as a 20 page document outlining posting behaviour and criteria have proven to work for the benefit of all members within our community.
I would like to once again stress that we are not here to police anyone; we encourage the free exchange of opinions, expressions and view on any main discussion board provided those are backed up by fact. In the cases were an opinion is unsubstantiated or cannot be reasoned with it is removed. For the greater part, posts which where reported as violations but have had the violation rule ignored they are acceptable.
Relevance is a vague principle and one which varies from individual to individual. Please take that into consideration when viewing a message on our boards. What is irrelevant or obsolete now was indeed a fellow community member’s expression.
AGORACOM must react to any and every situation of relevance or reviewing a violation; and in an attempt to keep our community clean our admins try their hardest not to side or show any inclination of favoritism when tackling any issue. By not reacting we are guilty of apathy. By reacting we run the risk of all sorts of labels. However we firmly believe that we have achieved a balance between these sides.
We believe we have struck as close to a happy medium as possible. "We" refers to the partnership between AGORACOM and our great members. AGORACOM built a great platform and you continue to breathe life into it. In this community, investors and prospective investors are free to share information, discuss it and even debate it. As long as you are adding to the relevant knowledge base of investors, we want you to participate.
For the record we will be considering some kind of upgrade to our violation tool that will offer some sort of added functionality to our Hub Leaders We intend to re-organize our ranking system so that people advance with based on a combination of points and rating. Up until now it has been strictly points.
The New system will be something like this:
President
1000 points and 3.5 member rating
Vice President
750 points and 3.0 member rating
Treasurer
500 points and 2.5 member rating
We are also considering to include members with the rank of VP to the members whose posts can be deleted by Presidents. We are still deliberating on whether or not to allow Presidents the ability to delete each others messages.
Thanks again for your inquiry. It is indeed a pleasure speaking with you as I really enjoy communication with involved community members.
Once again thank you for your messages and your contributions within the AGORACOM community. I wish you a great day.
Kind Regards,
Andreas M
AGORACOM Community VP
