However the weighting given to ratings is far too high in my opinion. The good news is that I began as a 4.00, was dropped quickly to a 1.70 and have come back to a 2.8. The retroactive nature of this system change must be troubling to those Presidents who are rated at 3.2 or less and will lose their presidential functions. Many universities have now gone to a student - teacher rating system to determine in large part merit raise bonuses. This is very bad news indeed for professors who teach unpopular required courses such as statistics in social science departments such as Psychology. Luckily I also taught popular courses in Clinical Developmental and Gerontological Psychology.
