Let me provide you with some insight on what admins can do regarding private message boxes.

Standard web protocols state that a provider, such as AGORACOM must disclose to it's users whether or not their inboxes are being monitored.

The answer here falls in a grey area.

In order to retrieve or review a message from your private message console, we would need a user's password. This is information is not available to AGORACOM admins. So if you would like us to track down a private message in another members inbox, we would have to inform that member that we would like to review his inbox - and that by doing so their accounts password will change.

If the other party has no inhibitions about this process we can set the wheels in motion and quite possibly retrieve the message you are looking for.
