Message: Madden was one of my most loved games as a child

Due to its cultural significance, we wondered just how impressive Madden's ratings were. Are players and fans who are obsessed by scores using Madden as a proxy for ritual warfare and personal vanity Are the scores actually able to reveal important data about player performance that analysts should examine with seriousness madden coins? In other words, are ratings tethered to anything that is objective, or are they only the thoughts of a handful of geeks from Silicon Valley?

The answer we found is that Madden ratings -- at least the ones we looked at were quite high. The Madden speed rating might be the best illustration. In most spots, the primary quality in Madden NFL is how quickly a player can move, which is why we'd expect the Madden rating team to put quite a bit of effort in getting their speed scores in order. That's exactly what we discovered.

We gathered data on the maximum speed of a player's career as well as previous years' average max speed per game, as well as the current year average max speed per game, and a combination of 40-yard dash times and then fed them into a multilevel model1 in order to forecast week Nine Madden Speed Scores and had decent success. Based on these results Madden game designers aren't merely using 40 times (which aren't available for a lot of teams in the league) to calculate scores for players. they're also using football league's Next Gen Stats tracking data in some way to create the ratings.

They're being smart about it also. From the model, and from conversations with a source at EA the Madden ratings team is weighing the current year's speeds higher than the previous year, and the model suggests that tight-ends get the biggest boost in score due to their speed being higher than their teammates buy Madden nfl 22 coins, closely followed by quarterbacks.
