Focused on exploration for gold and copper in British Columbia and Mexico.
My interpretation of the press release
OR attempt to understand the recent press release dated July 8, 2008 and what ALL THIS MEANS…. Comments/discussions most welcome…..
First, one must understand and remember that when Galore did there due diligence on the Dos Santos property that Mexico-based manager and vice-president, Octavio Gonzales, pointed out that there were numerous small mines and prospects with gold-bearing jasperoid occurrences on Galore’s property.
“These discoveries were made during a preliminary property examination, and used to as support for potentially high-grade and disseminated gold mineralization.”
With that said, the traditional grab sampling techniques were skipped over as Galore chose to proceed more aggressively with Channel/trench chip sampling?
Traditionally - Grab samples are gathered from the field, the original location of the samples is recorded, and labels are placed on each rock that is sent to a laboratory for a metal analysis.
In this case – Galore’s Management determined Channel sampling was a more prudent and warranted NEXT STEP rather then grab samples. This decision was made due to the small mining activities previously done on the property and from historical (non 43-101) data available.
In this technique of sampling, the area from where the samples are taken is exposed as completely as possible, by using some type of earth-moving equipment. In this case, trenches where hand excavated and several samples where taken from artisanal pits and abandoned underground workings.
Samples focused on two distinct areas of the property and all where within a one-kilometre diameter. The two areas are:
1. San Jose area, at the north end of the property (107 samples)
2. The Los Gemelos mine, a previous producing small artisanal gold mine dating back to the 1950s. (45 samples)
The trenches excavated typically were of a 20-metre length and chip samples of bedrock, were taken continuously over a two meter interval along the entire trench length.
If I understand this correctly, each sample therefore contained two meters of chip samples. In most cases, the chips are generated with a portable circular saw that is equipped with a diamond-studded blade?
Once the chips are bagged and tagged they where shipped to Acme preparation facility in Guadalajara, Mexico, and then onwards to be further analyzed at Acme Analytical Laboratories' assay facilities in Vancouver, B.C.
All samples were analyzed using aqua regia digestion and ICP-MS analysis on a 30-gram sample.
----
OUTLINE OF THIS PROCESS (aqua regia summarized)….?
The gold refining technique described here is the rather ancient wet chemical method whereby the gold-bearing scrap is dissolved in aqua-regia.
The filter and sludge are washed with repeated small amounts of water to wash all gold chloride solution down through the filter. The solution general if gold is present will most likely be the characteristic yellow of gold chloride.
The nitric acid from the excess of aqua-regia used in the digestion is removed either by boiling or chemical reaction.
To recover the gold as metal a reducing chemical is added to selectively change the gold chloride into solid gold particles. When tests show this to be complete the solution is filtered and the gold in the filter thoroughly washed. The clean gold is then melted and poured into molds or made into shot.

This is a 500 + CHIP sample program with the first 156 samples just released from Galore with a further 100 in route from the DOS SANTOS PROJECT Mexico.
The results:
"The association of highly anomalous gold values with the iron-oxide occurrences at San Jose is very encouraging.
· Samples ranged from trace amounts of gold to 1.5 grams per tonne.
· The fact that over 50-percent of the samples contained gold is positive that several areas in these two locations tested are gold-bearing.
· 11 samples or 24 percent contained 0.5 gram per tonne gold.
· The three highest analyses range from one to 1.5 grams per tonne
· The highest concentrations from 2 samples taken where:
1) 1.1 grams per tonne gold over 1.5 metres
2) 1.0 grams per tonne over 4.0 metres
I think the presidents comments on the 156 samples summed it up quite nicely:
“This association occurs elsewhere in the district and indicates a new target within the northern limits of the Dos Santos project,"
“Further Los Gemelos results are expected within one week and an additional 100 samples have been shipped to Acme Analytical's preparation laboratory. A total of approximately 500 samples are estimated from this phase of the sampling program.”
It was nice to see that Galore managed a 50% success rate for samples containing gold (from the first 156 samples) and I patiently look forward to the next set of results.
In my opinion, we are very much displaying a similar pattern as seen with Canplats prior to them announcing there discovery 25 kilometres to the south of Galore’s property last November. Similar grades, similar region and both have seasoned and experienced management!
Golden regards,
