MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - May 13, 2009) - Golden Share Mining Corporation ("Golden Share")(TSX VENTURE: GSH.V) is pleased to announce the latest results of its recent drilling campaign on the Forsan property, Quebec, Canada.

The Forsan East Zone ("FEZ") was initially discovered by two exploration drill holes executed to follow-up on historical data during Golden Share's first drilling program in 2008. The FEZ consists in a network of auriferous quartz-pyrite-tourmaline veins hosted in tuffaceous volcanic rocks at the contact with a felsic porphyry dyke, a geological context similar to that of the Forsan Main zone ("FMZ") which is located 600 m west-north-west of the FEZ. Several mineralized intervals of up to 2.00 g/t had been intersected in hole GSH-08-07 with two higher grade intercepts yielding 4.52 g/t Au over 1.35 m and 10.75 g/t Au over 0.40 m between the surface and 100 m vertical depth.

During this recent 2009 program, a series of nine short vertical holes totalling 454 m were drilled to follow-up on the 2008 discovery. See attached "2009 Drilling Results" figure at : http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/fe... .

Hole GSH-09-18 returned an intersection of :

- 56.86 g/t Au over 4.00 m from 42.00 to 46.00 m including 226.00 g/t over 1.00 m

At the level of hole GSH-09-18, the FEZ is described as a 4 meter wide zone hosting 12% quartz-pyrite-tourmaline veins with individual veins up to 0.20 m thick. The zone is located at the contact between a tuffaceous unit and a felsic porphyry dyke and contains 2 to 5 % pyrite with trace chalcopyrite. Fine grained visible gold was observed in association with the higher grade section of the interval. Structural measurements confirm that the zone was intersected at a proper angle as veins contacts are reported at an average angle to core axis of 60 degrees.

Two additional holes of the 2009 FEZ program returned results above 1.00 g/t Au :

- GSH-09-19 : 1.95 g/t Au over 1.00 m from 44.00 to 45.00 m

- GSH-09-24 : 4.99 g/t Au over 0.60 m from 39.10 to 39.70 m and 2.57 g/t Au over 1.46 m from 69.00 to 70.46 m

Moreover, the FEZ was intersected in seven of the nine holes of the program and, on top of the higher grade intersections presented above, it shows systematic anomalous gold values ranging between 0.05 and 0.81 g/t Au in association with an altered and pyrite bearing quartz-tourmaline vein network over widths of up to 7.00 m. Additionally, the three aforementioned holes (GSH-09-18, 19 and 24) define a mineralized zone over a 150 m strike length in close proximity to a north-east trending diabase dyke.

This first 2009 diamond drilling program is now completed and consisted in eleven holes totalling 739 m. Results are still pending for two holes drilled on the FMZ to validate historical data for the scoping study presently under way.

The property is situated at the south-eastern extremity of the Abitibi greenstone belt in the Val d'Or geological formation. The Forsan property is located 6 km north-east of X-Ore's Chimo past producing mine and 10 km south-west of the X-Ore Croinor project. The property sits on the end of the prolific Cadillac break, in east-west second and third order structures, and at the intersection with strongly developed north-east lineaments in a setting similar to that of the Val d'Or area.

The Forsan exploration program is supervised by Mrs Laurence Huss, M.Sc., P. Geo. and Vice-president Exploration of Golden Share. Laurence Huss is a " Qualified Person " as defined in National Instrument 43-101. Individual samples weighting 3 kg on average have been taken from sawn half core at +/- 1 meter intervals in the mineralized zones with consideration of the geological contacts. A rigorous QA/QC program involves the random inclusion of mineralized standards, duplicates and blanks at the sample collection and preparation stage. The samples are shipped to the ALS laboratory in Val d'Or, Quebec, for analysis by fire assay on 50 g pulp samples. The sample preparation procedure involves the crushing of the entire 3 kg sample followed by quartering to obtain a representative 850 to 1000 g sample which is entirely pulverized and out of which a 50 g sample is isolated for analysis by fire assay.

Golden Share's exploration programs are under the supervision of Mrs. Laurence Huss, P. Geo., and Vice-President Exploration. Philippe Giaro, P. Geo., President and CEO of Golden Share Mining Corporation and Qualified Person for Golden Share, has reviewed and approved the content of this release.
