So the permit revocation is official.
If you read some of the other GRZ and related forums you will notice comments such as :
GRZ is worthless and will go bankrupt.
They will take away ( nationalize ) Brisas.
They will never reissue the mine permit.
They want to combine Cristinas and Brisas into one and own at least 51%.
They want to sell both properties to another company.
This is leading to them demanding at least 51% of Brisas,
and perhaps a junior venture for GRZ (the operator?).
And so on...
Most of these commentators do not support their suppositions but state them out of emotion. That is not constructive.
It is obvious that both projects have or had illegal miners on the properties that have caused environmental damage. On the other hand both of the proposed mines should be an order of magnitude more environmentally friendly. So the argument that stoppage is based on environmental reasoning can not be true because stopping the mines means that illegal operations will continue ( even if vastly diminished by fencing etc.). And if the mines do not proceed do they not want to recover the resource ever? No chance.
Finally limiting illegal operations and stopping mines only inflames the populace due to lack of jobs.
I hope that explains sufficiently that argument.
Then there is the Vannessa decision and expected compensation. By seemingly stopping all mining the compensation is made limited and perhaps mute. That must be the intention of the government.
This event alone is reason enough for the cessation of mining.
Cristinas has over a billion pounds of copper that is not intended to be recovered in the Crystallex process. That is potential environmental damage. Too irresponsible to leave it in a tailings pond.
Then there is the 25 million dollar bribe from KRY. Obvious target for retaliation.
These are more than enough reasons for stopping KRY, but the main reason for the general stoppage, as proposed by 'TheVet', is the Vannessa decision, with illegal operations and miner protests perhaps second. My opinion is that most of the other commentary is premature at this stage and put forward by bashing shorters.
It should be obvious that none of these apply to GRZ directly. GRZ is just a collateral victim. Hence the argument that sooner or later the permits will be issued and reinstated.
