In the event that Rusoro fails to get sufficient shares to make their bid possible, then I wonder if we might hear something from Venezuela which either sweetens the pot or starts us off on a new tack.

As it stands it is obviously in the VZ governments best interest to see the RML bid for GRZ succeed. However if it is seen to be failing I wonder if they would be proactive and issue something like a formal statement announcing RML's "preferred status" or the like to improve RML's chances.

They cannot say anything directly about the fate of GRZ's properties without creating a legal minefield and I suspect that they are already having late night meetings with the lawyers and government officers arguing as to what they should do next.
