Edgy, despite the fact that the concept of operating LC and LB as a single large operation has always made economic and environmental sense, I can't see it happening in Venezuela under the present administration regardless of who might be interested in it.

It's a pity but Chavez seems to have the attention span of a 2 year old when it comes to making serious decisions. He makes lots of off the cuff statements, but even those are rarely carried through to completion or fail due to inadequate planning, management or finance.

The government is run by political appointment, and with no regard to the actual ability of the appointees except that they must look good in a red shirt and wave and cheer a lot at political rallies.
