The public announcement that the Privy Council (Governer - In - Council) has approved the amendment of sched 2 of the MMER means that the approval of the tailings impoundment area at Mallard Lake will be announced in the Canada Gazette Part II this wednesday, as it has passed into law.

Its been three long years. The Federal Government is the only entity that stood in the way of the project, solely on bureaucratic grounds.

An ironic twist that the federal process was initiated and announced at the worst time, in the months prior to the 2008 crash, and is now to be resolved just prior to the onset of the greatest financial disaster in history.

Mallard Lake is NOT a natural fish frequented water body, but a long standing provincially approved tailings impoundment area. In use intermittently over a period of decades. Now, let's obtain approval for tailings impoundment in Yew Lake, and Long Lake.
