Saskatchewan's SECRET Gold Mining Development.
via 321Gold.com - Santana Corporate Presentation
I read the story of legal wrangles between Santana and IAMgold through the 321Gold website. What I found interesting is comparing the close-up picture of ongoing exploration on the ground with the Watershed Property Exploration(pg. 14) in the Ontario Gogama district, with the area just north of Mallard Lake in the La Ronge Gold Belt.
The company provides no information whatsoever on drilling in the Mill Zone, either from Decade(Mallard Lake) or Jolu deposits(Alimak, Rod Zone, Pam Zone) You can see that extensive exploration work had been completed last year. Watershed Property Exploration at Santana is much smaller in scope, but looks almost exactly the same as the area north of Mallard Lake. The company announced that drilling was to commence this year, but appears to have been completed by this time last year.
Presumably water is being used from Mallard Lake in processing ore at the mill, and then the effluent is directed into the above-ground TMF. The lake is not being refilled, and fresh water is being diverted. What should be occurring is eventual open pit mining on the top of the Decade deposit, which runs under Mallard Lake, and is adjacent to the Jolu mine deposits.
We await the update of aerial photos over this terrain.
