Charts.

My former ECU hangout is preoccupied with charts. Earlier I posted there the following:

"Charts are history, so they are as good as history to predicting the future. Now we all know that history tends to repeat. We humans are creatures of habit that is why history repeats.

However as relating to stocks and particularly events that affect stock price movements, history is next to useless.

Rely on company fundamentals and events surrounding the company for tell tale signs of the future. JMO."

Now I add the following here:

If charts work for you then of course use them.

I look at the 5 or 10 year gold price chart and see an exponential rise in the price instead of a linear one. That tells me a lot - there is no stopping of gold and it will hit a critical point much sooner than most expect.

What constitutes a "chart" for me ( obviously not a real chart):

US is up to its ears in debt and bearly treading water. This is due to the fact that they deny the problem and as a result still have deficit budgets which add to the problem.

Also instead of having the financial institutions holding bad credit and having to swallow their flawed strategy, the government is using the public purse to bail them out. Hence getting the country (the public and government) into deeper trouble i.e. debt.

Military adventures also cost money.

These are the fundamentals of "my chart".

Next are the esthetics:

These are the foreign countries that see the gold price rising in their own currencies and start to buy, or at least not sell. That means most foreigners, because they are much more in tune with what is happening compared to the average North American, are dumping dollars for gold. This adds more pressure on gold price.

Do not write off the cartel, they are far from dead just fighting a loosing battle because the fundamentals are against them.

ECU has sound fundamentals, it is subjected to price manipulation and bashing due to low trade volumes but the fundamentals have not disappeared but are increasing with time.

As with the price of gold and silver this stock has only one destination. Do not forget.
