The US's problems are not from the value of its dollar. It is fundamentaslly from the debt which in turn is from living beyond one's means ( credit card mentality ).
Similarly Canadian Looney is not a problem yet. Just a few days ago a report came out that unemployment in canada is at a 30 year low! Does that represent a problem?
Of course there are manufacturing and soft lumber job losses in Ontario and Quebec but they are made up by resource jobs ( oil and mining ) in Alberta, Saskatchewan and even in Ontario.

Should the Loonie reach 1.10 or higher it would be a problem but as it was the last time our prime minister ( I call him a Bush clone ) will just lower the interest rate ( perhaps press a few more loonies per US example ) and the problem will be over.
No need to panic just yet.
