As a California resident, and one who occasionally has dealings with Calpers, I'm pleased to see that they have finally come to the same conclusion many of us did - 5-7 years ago!! To the extent other similar public pension funds haven't figured it out yet, Calpers getting on board may act as a catalyst for them - that represents a whole lot of money.
