Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
Impending “Flashover”?
Are the shorts in silver about to succumb to a “flashover”? As we all know, in a fire, a flashover is the most dangerous time in a fire. This is a relatively recent recognition of a phenomena that has always existed. It occurs when combustible gases are heated to auto-ignition temperatures signaling the most dangerous escalation in the progress of a fire, ending any search and rescue and meaning death for anyone trapped. It is the end of a contents fire, becoming a total structure fire. Now, there are ways to delay the flashover to allow precious minutes for an escape or for the positioning of full out attack hose lines. One way is to close a door to starve the fire of oxygen, slowing down the combustion rate and the build of heat.
One might draw an analogy to the above with respect to the silver markets. All the charts warn us of a build up of heat and potential combustion. The small specs think the fire is being snuffed out, not recognizing that it is merely building up to the auto ignition phase, blindly increasing their shorts. But the overpowering heat of the commercials, closing out their short positions, will power the market higher. Will a flashover soon occur as the shorts get consumed? Will big funds come in, pouring oxygen on the fire? When will the shorts realize they are cornered, suffocating? When will the trauma hit them? Will they have time to escape or will they perish, while waiting for what they think will be fire drenching attack hoses? Will there even be a water pail line?
Pardon the analogy, but I do believe we are all in for combustion on a greater structural scale then ever witnessed…..and it will be of “flashover “proportions, surprising even the most prepared. This is not too far off in my most humble opinion, and I think it will shock even the most experienced and knowledgeable of all. Silver prices will shock to the upside….as will the share prices of the junior silvers….like ECU for instance.
Will we weep for the demise of the shorts?….maybe not.
