Thanks GWR for the Scotia lead as I prefer to not deal with Kitco any more since they publicly stated they want money up front and will not promise a delivery date. Heck I could be waiting forever for my bars and adding insult to injury, be charged a cancellation fee if I got tired of waiting.
At any rate, I agree with you it is all but impossible to secure 100 oz bars even at the Scotia vault in Toronto and that is why I am willing to offer a hefty premium. I recall someone had recently visited the vault facility and not surprisingly, found it was nearly empty, although the supervisor said he could order large bars from other vaults in the States. Seems everyone has an excuse these days for not having any inventory on hand while the paper price falls off a cliff.
I was planning on buying 2-3 100 bars but heck, maybe I should bite the bullet and buy a 1,000 ouncer while the getting is good. At current depletion rates, even those bars might be gone soon. I'll call the local Scotia bullion dealer in downtown Ottawa tomorrow and see what I can arrange.
