Hi pic,
I sure agree that "one has to believe and interpret what's in front when those extremes of euphoria or despair are in one's head." I sure do believe what I see. it's the interpretation that I struggle with. Many traders, I suspect, forget about the interpretation. They simply act on what they see in their charts and indicators and other esoteric patterns. Good for them.
Gold and silver, from what I understand, just from an inflationary viewpoint, should have been multiples of their prices before this tumble. Gold perhaps well over 2,200. and silver 25 bucks minimum. So I don't consider either to have experienced a MELT UP a while back, as you put it. They have a long way to go before I look at it that way.
The point to me is that the cartel has knocked the prices down every time they got high enough to justify selling in their book. Over and over and over again. Every time I read at GATA that the big shorts were increasing their shorts as the prices rose, I figured it was only a matter of time before we would get taken to the wood shed again. Sure enough. It's happened more times than I can remember. Charts and all the rest, IMO, were a waste of time. In fact, my guess is that their quants are, at times, able to tip the charts in their favor.
Sure the prices have increased over the years. Why not. Keeps the miners from going broke for one thing, the regulators from crying foul and the game going. That, to me, sir, (as you put it) is control. Sure the PM prices may explode upwards soon, but if I notice the big shorts piling on the shorts again as we go back up, I wonder how high they'll let them run before they turn on the gas for the umpteenth time.
GWR just said it better than I could. We're being had by a bunch of scoundrels and those that have the influence to stop it are nowhere to be seen.
I've also heard that the bottom is in or near so many times that I'm beginning to become cross eyed. I sure hope you're right.
