The US bailout of Wall St Financial has amounted to a disturbing $3 Trillion so far and is growing rapidly. To help put the size of this gargantuan begging bowl into perspective I found a great chart this evening that attempts to track where all this new money is being spent.

The only problem is this chart is already out of date with fresh infusions being adding to the pot at such a rapid rate. For example, the Fed recently handed out a cool $Trillion at the Fed Discount window in one week alone, so the green slice below has in fact grown to a much larger piece of the pie. Adding this sum to the chart takes the grand total to an excess of $3 Trillion flushed don the toilet and incredibly, most of this funny money was created only since the beginning of September.

With all due respect methinks Monty Guild's estimate of $5 Trillion required to bailout US Financials out of this mess will be very conservative as we look back in the years ahead. How the Dollar can rise against other currencies while it is being printed out of existence ala Weimar-like hyperinflationary style, is beyond me. To put this figure into perspective $3 Trillion equals the grand sum total of one month's global GDP - the output of every man woman and child on the face of this Earth. At the end of the day this massive value erosion cannot last much longer without serious consequences - you know and so do I. Take Uncle Jimmy's advice - protect yourself.
