It's nothing but a temporary situation Baba brought on by the Canadian dollar relationship to commodites, probably the Bank of Canada selling dollars to buy US dollars as their contribution to supporting the dead dollar, and the artificial strength in the US dollar from repatriation of dollars to short dollar unwinding by Euroland banks who hedged their toxic waste exposure by shorting dollars (this trade was huge). It's like the Aussie dollar weakness verus the Yen, it's largely driven by the unwinding of the carry trade and will likely be temporary.
