"My fellow Canadians"as Dief used to say, guess what! There is conjecture out there that a new Amero or other currency will be born some day. Right now, the Loonie has backing due to Canada's commodity wealth. As commodities go, so goes the Loonie. As commodities erupt upwards starting with gold, oil, uranium, base metals and agricultural commodities in the next few years...it follows that the Loonie shoud be very strong, right?
Smell a rat yet? What if a new gold based currency is the criteria? Well, ladies and gentlemen, as most of you know, Canada has virtuyally no gold left...well, not true...we have 3.4 tonnes. Mexico has also got 3.4 tonnes. What a coincidence! The U.S. "supposedly" has 8,000 tonnes (won't ever be audited and who is going to force the issue?)while the Eurozone has 11,000 tonnes. huh! Wait a minute...the UK as 310 tonnes.
So, should there be an "Amero", we are screwed along with the Mexicans. Talk about getting permanently screwed!!! Don't know where the Brits will go. Guess they will have to be the poh boys in Euroland soon.
How about a water backed currency? We would be rockin!!
There's so much exciting stuff happening, eh?
