The number of shares needed for a take over are a majority of voting shares. If one wants to buy the companyin question they would need only enough to make a vote turn out in favor of the sell.

That's the way is used to be. Lately we have seen instances of management accepting an offer to sell without consulting the owners (share holders). It happened to me twice and both times I got screwed!

If this current action in the ECU share price has to do with a company establishing an un defeatable voting share block, we will not realize the potential of EC.U. as it will be diluted by the ballance sheet of the acquiring company. MO
