Last September, just 6 months ago, ECU's daily volume for the month was roughly 368,000 shares. Not much when considering the total number of shares out there. Even last December, daily trading only amounted to some 360,000 shares. Not much change from September. However, January showed a nice pickup rising to some 598,000 shares traded daily. All three months had 21 trading days.
However, over the last 3 months, trading is averaging roughly 731,000 shares daily, a significant change and about double daily trading just 6 months ago. The stock price however is another story having tanked from 1.71 last Sept. 1 to where it is now. Though I thought this increasing volume was a sign of someone turning up the heat, it looks to be more a case of someone turning the heat off and throwing a bucket of ice on it to boot. Hard to know what to make of it, though perhaps it's only a matter of time before the sellers have had enough or decide shorting, naked and otherwise, is becoming a losing game.
I see Anonymous still selling. Just noticed that over a 2 minute period 11:17-11:19 they sold another 75k shares in a quick 7 trades. And didn't move the price down even a half-penny. I wonder what would happen if I tried that.
