Not often would I disagree with you but:
"Avoid any vaccine programs."
That is wrong advice. I give myself as an example. Since 1990 I have been taking the flu vaccine each Fall. The only time I missed was in 1996 and as a result of my nephews at Chistmas time I did get the flu from them and that was the last time.
There are side effects with vaccines for some people but they are negligible by comparison for the population as a whole. They are something to avoid only for a tiny minority who had severe reactions in the past.
I live in Ontario and over the last several years the government has been providing free flu vaccinations because it turned out to be more cost effective for the government, i.e. medical costs and time off work etc.
