Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
Mccoydude, not to take away anything from your post but may I add a bit by asking a question.
What is most desirable about a mining company.
Assets mainly in the form of a resource, is the first answer. But the next answer should be the quality of management.
Many a time companies with a great resource are managed poorly and basicly destroy the company. Our management is not only managing the mining part well but take a proactive approach to situations.
Should the flu spread outwards commentators about our company could and may still caution investors about investing in us. This could easily be due to an agenda and not necessarily have any basis in fact.
Our management has taken the bull by the horns and put out a statement as to where we stand in relation to this flu outbreak. So should anyone want to bash this stock to take advantage of weak hands, now they have to provide some factual info to justify their opinion ( disinformation ).
That is part of the reason that I have been raising the caution about us being aware of the possibilities of effects from the flu and possible propaganda surrounding it. Yes I do believe that our share price is being played with so we should not leave another door open for these players.
Note that the flu could spread, an employee may be found positive and the company may have to respond by shutting operations for a week or two. That is not a big deal in practical terms but a profound one for potential investors. This statement clears the air by stating that the possibility of such events with
current status is very rare.
Need I say that I am proud of our management for making the statement about a so sensitive a subject. How many other companies operating in Mexico made such statements? I know of none.
I was surprised about the return of the share price to yesterday's close. I am wrong again about the closing price but this time on the under side. A good sign indeed. Cheers to the management.
