I guess Armstrong's views on the dollar are not based on cycles but on fundamental analysis. As I understand it, Armstrong's economic confidence model is a global model, so predictions about individual currencies can not be derived from his cycles. The decoupling of Gold (and Silver) from the dollar and its conversion into a currency (the strongest of all) can be derived from his model, since strong investment gold and it turning into a currency coincides with a lack of economic confidence.
