What you speak of Coach is plain and simple human nature.
We do not want to think much and react to impulses. Too often we over react and speak of things in terms of black and white (superlatives) instead of shades of grey that most things are.
Next, we are being spoon fed instant gratification through our media because that is how we are made to part with our money. There are too few of us wise enough to see for what it is. Perhaps it is some of those very few who are doing the spoon feeding. They do not want you to save because they are put out of the money exchange loop. If you borrow they get an almost free piece of the action. The only price they pay is like now, when they have become too parasitic and lent to those that are incapable of paying back and declared bankruptcy. I say that is well deserved pay back.
Now apply that thought to the state of our current financial institutions and you know my thought -
We should have let them fail.
They would have learned a well deserved lesson and the rest of us who bit into the credit pie would have a hard swallow.
Next thought - Throw the credit card back at the face of those parasites.
