"There was this young canadian guy on FOX News last night....very candid and flippant about Canada health care. He was trying to be humorous except that his stories of long waits for care were not funny. You folks get my vote for most patient patients"

You know these stories about how we stupid Canadians wait an eternity to receive health care are just plain STUPID. Ya if you go to the hospital emergency room with a cold or a scratch you'll wait. You'll wait long.

But if you got something serious you'll be taken care of and very well by the way. My Wife just had a stent inserted in her heart in early May and the care that she received was unbelievable.

What few people don't realize is that here in Quebec they introduced health care in 1970. The major reason was to make sure that Doctors paid income taxes. Ya we all remember the good old days when you'd call the Doctor and he'd come to your house and charge you a fee. Problem is those fees were very hard to keep track off for the Government. So bingo. Instant healthcare. (Why do you think doctors were so opposed to healthcare in the first place)

But you know what, no more stories of how families would spend fortunes, sold houses, just to keep a loved one alive and well.

Ya if you wake up on a Saturday morning with the sniffles and you don't feel like waiting till your clinic opens on Monday morning, you'll wait. But besides that I wouldn't change our system for any other system or non-system.
