Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
...Good day for gold, good day for silver, good day for ECU (volume and share price)!!
I hope that more and more people continue to open their eyes to the precious metals market and the juniors to go along with it.
A big problem here is that the western world (Americans especially) continue to rely on media for their "news." Sure, it is important to know what is going on in the world, but like it or not, people are getting suckered into this false feeling of security that our government is going to make everything better. "The almighty dollar will save us!!" or "we'll just print more money to pay off our deficit." These are scary phrases to start putting our security in, and I have heard them before.
Here is what I know. The dollar is nothing more than paper with numbers printed in all four corners telling you what it's "worth". The oldest dollar that I can remember ever holding in my hand was from the 1960s and it was rough for the wear. You ask me what's my point? My point is that paper is what I write on everyday. Paper is what I wrap presents up in. Paper is what I read while I'm on the john, and paper is what I wipe my butt with after I am done. Yet ironically, paper is what I buy all those products with. Sounds a bit twisted, and I try not to paint too graphic of a picture. But what I'm saying is here is that paper in and of itself is NOTHING MORE THAN PAPER. When the dollar was taken off of Gold backing, it started the countdown to its own death. Where it is in that countdown, I'm not all to certain, but the fat lady is warming up her voice.
So, all in all, here is my point. I am a firm believer in the Bible and the knowledge that one can get by reading its contents. In most every case, either a symbolic fire or literal fire is used as a test for the true worth of a substance. Let's use this test here, shall we? Let's hypothetically place gold and silver in a room and whatever that gold and silver are valued at, let's place that dollar amount in their as well...Now, let's light a match and watch the almighty dollar burn to nothing more than ash, while the gold and silver hold their value in weight. Sounds kind of silly, I know, but the point still comes through.
So, if given the choice today between 10,000 dollars or 10 onces of gold...I'd be 10 ounces richer :)
Now, I know that those that write on this hub are smart and already have an understanding of what the heck is going on...I'm writing this in agreement with you and to possibly inform others who may not think much about this subject. Now, I'm not at all a basher of the dollar. It has been good to me. It has provided me with an education, a roof over my head, the clothes on my back, the car I drive from here to their in, and just about anything I can call my own. Of all the things that I have learned about in my life, my father has taught me to be optimistic, yet to think critically. I can try to be as optimistic as I can about the future of the dollar, but common sense continues to tell me that Gold and Silver have a purpose as to why they are considered "precious metals". Now, the dollar on the other hand...it ain't looking too pretty when the goings get heated [oops...no pun intended :)]
I continue to trust that common sense wins out, and precious metals along with those that mine/produce them get some much deserved attention.
Good luck to you all
